I don't really know what is wrong with humanity. I personally believe that life would be a better place, if we learn to speak the truth at all times. Marriage like every other thing that brings people together is nothing but a contract binding two people together. And like any other contract in the world, can be broken, reviewed and terminated. Since you have decided to use shoes to qualify a union between to leaving humans, I begin to wonder who is the shoes and who is the human. Cos what your article means to me, is that in marriage one person must have a will and the other must be dead. Obviously, who ever is the shoe has no will of his or her own, making the person nothing but a 100% slave. That to me is a horrible concept of marriage. Also the idea of buying a product without testing it, is nothing but pure "FRAUD" it's like paying for a goods you've not seen. If you've not worn a shirt before, how do you know your size in the market? I think is high time this issue of marriage should be discussed holistically, viewed like any other binding contract, rather than leaving it to chance and gambling speculations. People spend years in universities learning to become the best in the field they have chosen, so that they will not be found wanting, when they are called upon in the future to implement what they have learnt in solving real life problems. Cause what ever field you have chosen, if successfully completed, you will remain that till you die. And like we all know, the problems that comes with marriages are something else . So if we all desire to remain in marriage till death do us part, then I think it should also be a field to be studied. Even pastors go to pastoral schools to be better equipped for the job ahead, and we are all happy with that. So why can't same be done for marriage? Looking at it from another angle, one may want to ask, why did we move from arranged marriages practiced by our ancestors, to a marriage of free choice? If arranged marriages are the best form of marriage, we would be singing the praises of our parents always knowing the best for us. However, its not so today, due to the enormous problems that comes with such marriages, it is fast fading away, like every old and faulty methods, giving way for new and better methods, that can still be improved upon . We should really look into this marriage issue, like a normal subject that is to be learnt and studied, rather than the trial and error approach the whole world feels is the best.
