Abuja - Embattled Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has rescinded on his claims that legislators cannot prosecute him for budget padding.
According to a Naij report, Dogara made his position known through a statement released by his media aide Turaki Hassan, while stating that he owes allegiance to the judiciary and institutions of law enforcement.
While displaying the true effect that the budget scandal has had on him, Dogara has made efforts to dismiss the allegations while claiming that those who seek his prosecution are not knowledgeable on the inner workings of the legislature.
His sentiments then changed when he attempted to protect members of the legislature while stating it is within their mandate to make changes to the budget, including padding.
After reaffirming that no funds had been misappropriated in the 2016 budget, Dogara then finally took to his Twitter page to say that he has now realized that "communication is key".
